Spare room – before

“Where will I put this?” “In the spare room” Sounded like a good idea at the time, but over the years the reality has become a nightmare. We all wish we had a ‘spare’ room – to keep more stuff, BUT most spare rooms are dumping grounds for stuff that doesn’t have a place. This spare room is now needed as a toddlers room – the time has come to tackle it head on
When you dump things in the spare room, eventually the pile gets so big that you can’t find anything that you’ve dumped. So you never use or look at what it is you HAD TO KEEP.
SO why are you keeping it? Value your spare room. Use it for enjoyment – musical instruments, a guest room, take up a hobby…
Spare room – after
Light at the end of the tunnel. Whilst this room is not finished, it’s on the road to recovery. The task to start to turn this spare room into a toddlers room was daunting. We’ve all heard the expression – one step at a time. Well that’s what you do.
Start at the door and pick up the first object. Do you want it, need it or use it? If the answers NO, get rid of it. If the answers YES, ask another question “Does it belong in the toddlers room?”
If yes, leave it, if no, put it in the room it belongs and find it’s place LATER.
Remember it took years to lose your spare room – it’ll take you a little time to get it back – but it’s achievable!
